01/24/2022 – In 1982 I started my new life insurance sales career with Met Life! Like many new agents, I had to make 40 or more cold calls to set one life insurance sales appointment. Just like everyone else, I hated cold calling to set insurance sales appointments. But eventually, I learned a few keys that made cold-calling insurance prospects to set sales appointments a lot easier. The main key I learned was to ask prospects a lot of questions to help them to see if they had a problem – that I could help them with (Thank You Mike Wood)! Initially, it was difficult and I had to cold call 30 or more insurance prospects just to set one sales appointment. Because they knew nothing about me. But the better I got at asking prospects questions, the more insurance sales appointments I would set… even from cold calls.

Set More Insurance Sales Appointments From Your Cold Calls! 

The next key I learned, was that if I called the people I knew (or that knew me), then I only needed to cold call 10 prospects to set one insurance sales appointment!

Then I learned that if I really helped prospects, (Thank you Phil Urbano and Ron Stabile) they would refer me to their friends and family. When I made a cold call to those referral prospects and asked questions I was able to set an insurance appointment with just about every one of them.

I also learned the more I helped my prospects, the more referrals I would get! Help prospects to reduce or eliminate debt, refinance their home, save for college, protect their family, and save for a tax-free retirement! Help prospects find the money to take action, etc.
