To close the sale you must know all the facts about the prospect’s situation. And, not just the hard facts of what they have. You also need to know the soft facts of how ‘They Feel’ about what they have.
Because what you may see as your prospect’s problem – may not be what they see as the problem that they want to solve. If you misunderstand their situation, as they see it, then you will not connect. And, you will not close a sale.
On the other hand, if you do a good thorough insurance fact-find, and really listen to them – then you will see the situation the way your prospect sees it. And you won’t have to waste time trying to explain issues that they don’t care about. Instead, you can focus on the exact set of circumstances that they want to be addressed. When you do a thorough insurance fact-find their values will become clear to you. You will be viewed as a Trusted Advisor and not a salesman.
