4/17/2019… The ability to set more life insurance appointments and then close more and larger sales – starts by making sure you find and attract the RIGHT people to sell life insurance to. And, that is about you learning how to properly market your services. It all begins with you finding an immediate problem that you can and want to solve for people. The more immediate and pressing the problem they have and want to solve… Then the more likely they will want your help!

One of the fundamental truths about sales is that no one wants to pay for anything. So the only reason people will ever want to meet with you. And will want to pay you for your products and services right now! Is because you can solve one or more of people’s most immediate and pressing problems… Right now.

Basically, it means that most people will only pay for the products and services that will solve their most immediate and pressing problems. For example:

  • A sick person will need help from a doctor.
  • A person with legal problems will need help from a lawyer.
  • A person needing a mortgage will need help from a mortgage broker.

Find the people who want to solve a problem!

Once you have found an immediate problem that some people have. Then you must find the people that will need to solve that problem. For example, if the problem you want to solve for people is not having enough money saved for their retirement. Then who are your best prospects? Are you looking to attract people who have a pension plan? Probably No! But, what about you people who are self-employed – Or the employees of a small business?

Now you will want to determine which of those people will most want to solve their problem. Who will benefit the most from your products and services? Do you want to be working with… People age 25, or people age 45? Who has the money? Who can you see on a favorable basis? And who can qualify for your products or services?

Finally, it is determining the best ways to effectively deliver your special message of how you help people, to your best prospects. Now you will want to decide how you will deliver your message to your best life insurance prospects! So that they will want to contact you and work with you.

What Is Your Message You Want To Deliver To Find and Attract The Right People To Sell Life Insurance?

When people ask you… “What do you do?” How do you normally reply? Do you answer with the title of your job description? Such as… I’m a financial advisor.  Or do you tell them what you do, like… I sell life insurance and annuity products – I help people save for retirement.  What does this mean to the person who asked you? Not much! It tells them very little about you!

You also run the big risk of scaring people off! When you pitch your products and services.

As An Example, Here Is How You Can Reply To The Question…What do you do?”

“You know how people today are more and more concerned about their retirement… Because of credit card debt, increasing income tax rates, the problems with social security, and the higher cost of living?”

“Well, what I do is, help them take charge of their finances to eliminate debt, and save for retirement, without them spending any additional money or changing their current lifestyle. So they can live debt-free and truly wealthy!”

Do you see how this paints a picture of how what you do helps others? You are focusing on some of the challenges that most people are aware of and can easily identify with! It is a focused reply. And, shows that you understand what to do to help people.

Use Your ‘Unique Selling Proposition’ To Find and Attract The Right People To Sell More Life Insurance!

Now, if a person identifies with this? If they find it hard to make ends meet! And they are concerned about their retirement? Then do you think they are likely to want to know more? Probably “Yes!”

By stating how what you do helps others. You will create a good first impression. Then you will cement that first impression…  When you turn the conversation over to them. Remember, it is all about you asking them the right questions. So you get them to talk about what they need and want.

Contrary to the popular opinion – ‘That as long as you are talking, you are in control’ – the opposite is true. You control the conversation when you ask the right questions. And then you listen to what they have to say.

What is the problem they want to solve? What solution are they looking for? And what is their most wanted outcome?
