It is learning to ask prospects more and better questions with everyone that you meet and talk to. Whether you are talking to a parent at a little league game, a friend at a barbeque, or a businessman at a meet and greet! You need to learn to have a conversation with them. And then at some point in the conversation, you need to ask prospects questions about their situation.

The Secret To Success Selling Insurance Is To Ask Questions To Have A Conversation With People!

At some point in the conversation, you will want to ask prospects how things are going at work, what they do, etc.! Then at some point, they will ask you what you do, etc.! And your answer may be something like…

You know how people are worried about the rising costs of a college education! Well, what I do is help people to maximize the amount of free money they can get. 

Or – You know how people are worried today about saving enough to retire today? Well, what I do is help people to maximize their income when they retire. So they don’t outlive their money! 

Most people will then ask you questions about what you just told them.

Now it is your turn to ask prospects questions about saving for college for the children! Or, saving for retirement, etc.!

Simple Questions To Ask Prospects To Find And Attract A Great Insurance Leads To Set Sales Appointments And Close Sales!

You might ask: Bill, I’m just curious, and if you don’t me asking what are doing about saving for college? Or what are you doing for retirement?  

Then you might ask… “Great, where are putting that money?” Friend says… In a 401k! (Here, most agents will jump in and then tell them about a better plan they have.)

But instead, you ask them… “Has anyone sat down with you and taken the time to figure out how much money you will need when you retire?” Friend says… No!

You also ask them… “How do you feel about that?” Friend says… I never really thought about it.

So you ask them… “Do you think it is important to know how much money you will need when you retire?” Friend says… yes!

Then you ask them… “Well, do you think it is important for you to know what you will need?” Your friend says… Yes! But I can’t do anything right now!

So, now you say and ask them… “I know! None of us has any extra money. But if I could help you to find more money to put away for your retirement? Would it be worth taking a few minutes to sit down and talk about it?” Your friend says… Yes!

The above are the same questions you should ask when calling prospects for an appointment and in a life insurance fact-find. Ask questions to help prospects see if they have a problem. Then ask prospects more questions to get them to think about the problem. The more they think about the problem, then the more important it will be to fix the problem!
