Then consider, as a manager for Met Life, my job was to make sure the new agents I hired got off to a fast start selling Life Insurance?

So, I looked at what all the other managers and IMOs were doing. The problem was that almost every one of the managers had a 90% failure rate with new agents. So, I had to find a better and easier way for them to sell life insurance.

Based on my own experience, when I was selling life insurance. I found that there are two main keys to selling permanent life insurance. The first key is to ask the right questions during the approach so that you can set a great sales appointment for life insurance. If you want to set a great sales appointment and make it stick, then you must make it important to them. Most people don’t realize they need insurance. So you have to help them to see they have a problem. So they will ‘want life insurance to protect their family!’ The second key is you need to help them ‘find the money to pay for permanent life insurance!’

After a lot of thinking, I decided the easiest problem to get people to see was protecting their homes for their families. It is the easiest way for new agents (and experienced agents) to set a sales appointment to sell life insurance. But, you can not do it the way most managers teach it today! Because most agents have a lot of trouble setting and then keeping the life insurance sales appointment. Plus most of them end up with a just small life insurance sale! So they have to sell a lot of life insurance just to survive!
