We have all heard Lew say… “If you want to have a successful life insurance sales career, then you have to study an hour per day!” While many other highly respected insurance legends and mentors such as Ben Feldman, Earl Nightingale, Brian Tracy, Charlie Tremendous Jones, and Zig Ziglar give this advice to insurance agents… You can make it to the Top of Your Successful Life Insurance Sales Career in 1-5 Years… But, only if you follow the advice of the insurance legends.

Best Advice From Legends For A Successful Life Insurance Sales Career

The best advice from insurance legend Earl Nightingale is; “One hour per day of study in your chosen field was all it takes. One hour per day of study will put you at the top of your field within three years. Then within five years, you’ll be a national authority. In seven years, you too can be one of the best people in the world at what you do.”

Legend Brian Tracy gave this advice for insurance agents…“If you read only one book per month, then that will put you into the top 1% of income earners in our society. But if you read one book per week, 50 books per year, that will make you one of the best-educated, smartest, most capable, and highest-paid people in your field. Regular reading will transform your life completely.”

In addition, insurance legend Charlie Tremendous Jones gave this advice… “You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.”

And I Agree 100%! We ALL need to study an hour per day for successful life insurance careers! Notice I reference Studying this also incorporates reading, watching, and listening! I don’t care if you have been selling life insurance and annuities for 30 days or 30+ years. You need to study an hour per day if you want to get to be successful in your life insurance career and then stay successful! Because there is always something new you can learn.

Today, I was speaking with an agent, who said: “I don’t have time to study an hour per day.”  If you want to have a successful career selling life insurance, then you need to make time. We all have excuses for why we don’t have time. But, if you really think about it, we can all make the time. I often use the excuse that my son, Taylor, has baseball practice, and I’m the coach. So, when I get home I’m just too tired to study! However, in reality, I’m just being lazy. So, I prevent myself from putting my work in. But, the funny thing about it is, that I teach my players that losers make excuses… while Winners make it happen!

Accordingly, the best advice from insurance legend Ben Feldman… “Read! The study never stops because publications never stop coming in. It’s read, study, and think about what you’re studying. Take it apart and put it together. Ask ‘why?’ And know the answers.”
