I have always been a firm believer in educating your insurance prospects. When I first started in this business, (before working with IPS) we did not have any educational materials to hand out to our clients about their insurance and investment needs. So, when I started my own agency, I decided that we would have a lot of educational pieces for our Insurance prospects. That they could use to educate themselves about the problems they face. (not products) And then they could come to us for help.

Fast forward to today. My agents and I now host educational workshops to help our sales team to set the best insurance sales appointments, to close more sales. We base these educational workshops on correcting the mistakes that we have seen so many advisors and clients make. These mistakes include everything from not saving for their future – to not updating their insurance and investment during life changes. I have to admit, I am floored by how many people are concerned with this topic. Educational Workshop attendance has been through the roof. Because we are keeping it simple. We give them educational materials. Do a short educational workshop presentation. Then we hold a question and answer session. And then we stick around after the educational workshop for additional conversations and to set great insurance sales appointments.

Simply put, prospects appreciate that we educate them on all of the strategies that should be used in the planning process. Rather than just trying to sell them a product. In turn, it has positively impacted the amount of business that comes our way.
