There are five ‘Secrets’ to you setting sales appointments at your annuity seminar or free educational workshop! So you can easily set appointments with 90% of your annuity seminar attendees… And they will keep their annuity sales appointments with you!!!
And, these five Secrets are the exact opposite of what most agents are being told they must do!
First and foremost you must invite the right people! Running ads in the local newspaper, or sending out postcards to everyone who is 55 or older… Only guarantees you will fill your annuity seminar seats. The problem is that you will generally fill those seats with many of the wrong people. If you want to have the right annuity prospects attend your seminar… Then you will want to invite the people who need your help. The people you have the best chance of selling. Your best annuity prospects are generally going to be middle-income families… Not the affluent people who already have an advisor and do not need your help. If you are selling annuities then you will want to invite people who are already retired… Or are just about to retire. (60 to 80 years of age)
You must make every effort to make an emotional, personal connection with each of your attendees... before, during, and after your annuity seminar or workshop! Do not have someone introduce you. Because you do want to make a personal connection with everyone. People want to work with people they know and trust. You, or someone in your office, should be calling them… to confirm their attendance! Then call them two days before the event to remind them of the annuity seminar or workshop. You will want to personally meet and greet everyone as they come in for your annuity seminar.
During your annuity seminar sales presentation, you should make eye contact with everyone, one person at a time. You will want to make each person feel as if you are having a personal conversation with him or her sometime during your presentation. You must help your attendees to see and understand the financial problems they are facing today. And how your information relates to their situation! If the annuity prospect does not see and understand they have a problem and how you can help… then why would or should they take the time to meet with you? You should ask rhetorical questions during your annuity presentation. Ask questions that will get your annuity prospect to think about how what you are talking about relates to their situation. You are not looking for anyone to answer these questions. So you just ask a question and then pause to let the question sink in.
You must speak at a sixth-grade level… then even the college professors will understand you. If you use technical jargon or big words trying to impress people, you run the risk of making them feel inferior and/or confusing them. In either case, they will not set an annuity sales appointment with you. Or, if they do set an annuity appointment they will cancel, or just not show up!
You must never ask for an annuity sales appointment. You must allow them to meet with you. If you offer a free consultation, you ask or you push for an annuity sales appointment they will see you as just another salesperson. If you allow them to meet with you, you are an advisor. There is only a subtle difference between the two, but a big difference in the number of annuity sales appointments you will set. “Is it worth 40 minutes of your time to see if….”
