Understanding The Main Reason Why Most Insurance Lead and Sales Systems Fail!

The problem with most of the insurance leads and sales systems being offered out there (or buying leads) is that most agents experience a 90% or higher failure rate. Most of these insurance leads and sales systems, just give you some quick fixes, and then send you on your way! Their focus is based entirely on bringing in new prospects, closing some quick sales, and making quick money. While these insurance lead systems (or buying leads) will help a few agents to make quick money, it’s definitely the hardest, most time-consuming, and most expensive way to build your business! And, in the end, it leads to failure for most agents!

Why???

Imagine for a moment that you just opened a restaurant. You work hard and spend lots of advertising money to get a crowd of people to come in for your grand opening. Then on the day of the grand opening, in order to make a quick sale and quick money, you serve everyone the same meal. You never find what they want or how they want it. How many of those people would come back? How long would you stay in business?

Is there any business out there that doesn’t count on repeat business and referrals? How long would any restaurant stay in business if they didn’t have their customers coming back over and over again? How would their business grow, if no one ever heard about them and they didn’t get referrals? And how long would a doctor, accountant, attorney, jewelry store, or car wash stay in business without repeat business or referrals?

Every business, to survive, must have repeat customers. To grow, they must be constantly visible to their prospects and they must get referrals.

And, it’s the same for your insurance business!

If you want to achieve long-term sustainable insurance sales success you must have a proven lead/marketing system to constantly get your name out there, in front of your ideal prospects. And helps them to know about you and the work you do to help people. (using monthly newsletters, published articles, free reports, free publicity, and Educational Workshops)

You need a proven system that generates high-quality insurance leads/prospects through testimonials, endorsements, and referrals.

If you are like me, you probably are saying yeah, but I have to start somewhere. Right?

The question to ask yourself is: “Am I doing what is most comfortable or what works?” Buying Insurance Leads is comfortable, but they are not the most profitable use of your time. It has taken me about a year to learn that lesson from Lew and Jeremy. Sometimes I still have to fight the temptation to go back to the easy way. (Buying Insurance Leads)

Here is what to do instead…

  1. Make sure, if you have a book of business, you are doing Annual Reviews. You will be surprised at how much business you are passing up. I was.
  2. Make sure you are asking for referrals. People prefer to work with someone who comes highly recommended, so why not become that person?
  3. Make sure you are sending Newsletters to everyone you know. People WILL start calling you. It is happening to me every month.
  4. If you don’t have much of a book of business, then start a Joint Venture. Doesn’t it make sense to prospect for a powerful business alliance that can feed you insurance leads indefinitely rather than prospecting for one client at a time?
  5. Instead of buying insurance leads why not invest in one of Lew’s systems? He can show you how to get people to call you. I had 8 people call me and ask for my free Booklets this weekend so far. They won’t all buy life insurance right now. But you can bet they will be on my mailing list and get my Newsletters. Who do you think they will call when they need some financial advice?

I learned all of the above from working with Lew. And, I am very thankful that I finally broke the chain of buying insurance leads.

By the way, I have been buying mortgage life insurance leads for about 10 years in a row and barely making a living. Last year I doubled my income doing exactly what I have described above and it was way easier. I hope this helped.

I agree with Tony. Buying insurance leads is not the best way to start. The percentage of successful sales to the cost of buying insurance leads is just not good. I worked for AFLAC briefly myself.

In addition to what was already said, I suggest you visit a targeted group of small businesses in your area (plumbers, body shops, etc.)

Ask the gatekeeper who is the person in charge of benefits for the company. Have the gatekeeper give you that person’s card. In a day or two call the person directly and ask for an appointment. You’ll get more appointments this way than you will get buying insurance leads.
