Satisfy The Client’s Primary Needs For You To Sell More Annuities And Life Insurance!

10/14/2021 – Dear Friends, Do you want to sell much more life insurance and annuities? Do you want to close annuity and life insurance sales with just about everyone you meet with? Then you must make sure you identify and satisfy your client’s primary needs first. You will want to find their most pressing primary need and then satisfy that need to make them a client. But you must make sure you satisfy the right need. Because some needs are a lot more important than others!

According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, there are certain needs that will take precedence over all the other needs. One of the main reasons why agents struggle with selling annuities and life insurance is they make the mistake of trying to satisfy a need they found.. before their client has satisfied their primary needs!

The first two needs are the client’s primary needs that you must satisfy first…

First, there are physiological needs. These are biological needs. They consist of the needs for food, water, shelter, and clothing. They are the strongest of all the needs! Because if a person were deprived of all their needs – Then these physiological needs would come first in the person’s search for satisfaction.

Second, are their safety and security needs. After all the ‘physiological needs are met, then people want security and protection for their families. In adults, this set of needs is to have a home in a safe neighborhood, with job security, a nest egg, a good retirement plan, a bit of insurance, and so on.

Then There Are The Secondary Needs That You Will Want To Satisfy Later For Your Clients…

Third, are the needs for love, affection, and belonging. Only after all the ‘physiological needs’ and ‘safety and security needs are met… Will most people seek belonging, friendship, and love?

Fourth, is the need for esteem. People need to be respected as an individual. When these needs are satisfied. Then people feel self-confident and valuable as a person in the world. When these needs are frustrated. Then the person feels inferior, weak, helpless, and worthless.

Fifth is the self-actualization needs. People need to feel complete and valid in all aspects of themselves.  They need to feel confident in being themselves. Maslow describes self-actualization as a person’s need to be and do that which the person was “born to do.” “A musician must make music, an artist must paint, and a poet must write.”

Only when the preceding classes of needs are satisfied will the next set of needs become important and dominant! People will not feel the second need until the demands of the first have been satisfied, nor the third until the second has been satisfied, and so on.

Accordingly, if you want to find people who want to take action right now. Then you must address one of their strongest immediate ‘physiological needs’… (Food, water, shelter, and clothing.) So by helping them to get the life insurance they need… You are also satisfying one or more of your client’s primary ‘safety and security needs!’
